Just some info here about hair extensions:

Unsure whether extensions are for you ?

Firstly if your hair is in good condition there is no reason why extensions should harm your existing hair :)
Though, if you feel your hair is thinning or you have scalp conditions that are causing scaling then it is best to visit a dermatologist or trichologist to check every thing out.

Girls be aware of inexperienced hairdressing salons and mobile hairdressers offering extensions, they are usually under qualified and do not always apply extensions correctly, thus, leaving the clients hair in damaged conditions and in extreme cases bald patches.

If your hair extensions are costing less than £200.00 for a full head it is more than likely the person you are using is not qualified, under experienced, and is not using human hair, like they will be telling you, they will be trying their hardest to convince you, please be cautious!

Once your hair gets damaged the only option for repair is to cut it off, and if bald patches occur this can be devastating, please be careful choosing a experienced skilled salon or hair replacement centre and remember if the store has only just started offering extensions that they will have no experience. It is always a better option to go with a hair replacement clinic.

There are many differences in hair and cheap hair contains horse hair, synthetic (plastic) and recycled hair. Other hair that can be used which is cheap for hairdressers is horse and human Indian hair. The cuticle layers on this hair runs in opposite directions, for example on the human head this runs from root to end, on the cheap hair the cuticles runs from end to root this creates tangling and matting and ensures that the extensions do not behave like your own hair, and will cause damaged to your own hair due to the matting.

You need to make sure the hair is remi which means the hair is running from root to tip.


Cheapest hair from the bottom of the scale...

..is the hair you can find in markets or 'cheap' shops this will most definitely say 100% human hair, which it most definitely will not be, because there are so many cheap brands around changing names so often they get away with their false advertising, this is full of horse hair synthetic hair and damaged, un-remi Indian hair, the worst of them is the ones which call themselves euro hair or Europe hair, these companies name their businesses euro or Europe to get away with this kind of false advertising. Real hair should be cold to the touch in an average temp room.

We then have synthetic hair, synthetic hair is plastic but good quality and reasonably priced, synthetic hair can look very good if done professionally!

We then go to Indian hair, Indian hair as long is it is remi correctly coloured this should be soft and fairly silky, the cuticle tends to be slightly thicker than real European hair.

European hair is of very good quality, it is very silky very soft and would usually cost around 700 for a full head of say 18 inch.

The creme De la creme is Russian hair, this is very hair to find a clinic to do and you will not find this in a salon.
